Hotel ELPOL is found in the beach of Saint Marina ( Agia Marina or Aghia Marina), 8 kilometres west of Chania city.
In north the beach, in distance of 400 metres, is found the island of Saint Theodoros.

The fable says that a wild beast came from the sea in order to eat the residents of village of on the same day of Saint Theodoros.The residents
requested the Saints to save to them, and thus they transformed the village in a big island. In order to thank them the residents, they built a church on t o island and him they gave the name
of Saint Theodoros
